guiding communities and coalitions though complex natural resource challenges
How I can help.
-
Collaboration and Coordination
I convene and facilitate diverse coalitions—ranchers, conservation groups, industry, and local governments—guiding productive dialogue and helping stakeholders develop grounded, defensible solutions that last.
My approach is rooted in a simple belief: the most durable decisions—the ones that survive political shifts—are those built and carried forward by the people who depend on them.
-
Public Lands Management
I support clients through every stage of federal land-management processes, including NEPA processes, Forest Service and BLM planning efforts, project-level analysis and major policy initiatives that shape public land management.
This includes developing sophisticated, legally sound technical regulatory comments. I emphasize finding durable decisions to a client’s natural resource challenges.
-
Legal and Policy Analysis
I deliver detailed legal and policy analyses to inform defensible and strategic decision-making. A thorough understanding of the legal framework—including federal and state statutes, regulations, and planning documents—is a necessary foundation for sound policy and management decisions.
Is this proposed utility scale solar development consistent with the existing resource management plan? Is an environmental assessment appropriate for this project under the National Environmental Policy Act, or is an environmental impact statement necessary? I can help answer these and other legal and technical questions.
-
Regulation and Permitting
I help clients navigate federal, state, and local permitting processes by translating complex regulatory requirements into practical, actionable strategies. This work includes assessing the legal landscape, engaging with the regulatory agency, and anticipating and exceeding agency expectations.
I approach permitting with an awareness of the broader cultural and societal context in which these decisions unfold, ensuring that strategy considers not only compliance needs but also community values, stakeholder dynamics, and long-term organizational goals.
